🕯If You go on Home Depot, Lowes, Amazon, Menards, Walmart; etc, they may still have kerosene heaters that we can order and set up before this freeze hits.
Are Kerosene heaters safe?
My Furnace died years ago and every year, for the past 4 years, I have used the Kerosene heater pictured below for heat.
I've used this kerosene heater, without fail, through the Worst of Michigan's Brutal Winters.
Sometimes running it 24 hours a day.
If you get this particular kerosene heater you will need to get "C" Batteries for the automatic start.
Otherwise, you will need to manually light it with a lighter.
This kerosene heater is very easy to put together and gives off a tremendous amount of heat.
Once it heats up a room, it will leave you very warm.
How much Is Kerosene and How Much Kerosene will we need?
This particular Kerosene heater will take about 2.5 Gallons to fill and in EXTREME FREEZE situations, we will need Four gallons of Kerosene per day.
Turning it off and on through out the day, we can get by with 2 gallons per day.
There are some gas stations that sell kerosene by the pump from $3 to $5 a gallon.
At the store they sell more expensive kerosene from $10 to $15 a gallon.
I've bought both, I use both, I use what I can get, when I can get it.
Sometimes we will not be able to leave the house.
In nearly every city in America there are companies that deliver bulk Kerosene.
All we need are containers to store that kerosene in.
We can buy the containers to store kerosene or buy a few 2.5 or 5 gallon containers already filled with kerosene from home depot or Lowes, have it delivered, then keep reusing those containers.
Most stores that sell kerosene heaters sell the kerosene.
Many smaller hardware (Ace) stores sell kerosene too.
If We can't get out to these stores and gas stations, all the stores mentioned will deliver.
Since we KNOW they say that ICE STORM will hit Friday lasting till Tuesday.
Then at the Minimum we should have at Least 16 gallons of Kerosene stored.
Yes Kerosene is very safe to store.
Most times i store the Kerosene in the same room so it won't freeze During THE GREAT FREEZE

⚠️ As The Ice Storms and Freezing rain approaches, some of us are really starting to hear the cries of meteorologists saying This Could Be Very Bad, For A Long Time.
Some of us may end up losing electricity, running water, heat, for a long time.
One Question I see is, "How can I heat my house when there is no power?"
It's close to impossible.
So don't even try.
🕯The Best solution is to focus on ONE ROOM. One or two rooms (connected) that you can totally cut off from the rest of the house.
For some that may be the living room & kitchen
Or a bedroom and bathroom
Even if it's just a bedroom, if sealed up with plastic, it will trap your body heat.
And plan for everyone to sleep in that room until this freeze passes.
Meaning using plastic sheeting and duct tape, and put plastic (using duct tape) over the doors or entryways to that room.
